Vic denies homelessness impasse

Victoria's housing minister has accused the federal government of playing politics over homelessness when it said the Labor states had not agreed to a national funding deal.

Federal Social Services Minister Scott Morrison said only coalition states had come on board with the $230 million two-year agreement announced on Monday, but the Victorian Labor government says it too has signed the deal.

"Scott Morrison is simply wrong. And it shows that the Abbott government is more interested in playing politics than actually helping the homeless, many of whom are women escaping family violence," Victorian Housing Minister Martin Foley says.
