Victorian coroner to release findings on Luke Batty death

Victoria's coroner is ready to hand down his findings on the case that dragged Australia's domestic violence problem into the light.

Schoolboy Luke Batty was murdered after cricket practice at a suburban oval in Melbourne on February 12, 2014, by his mentally ill father Greg Anderson, 54, who was then shot dead by police.

His mum Rosie Batty went became a tireless anti-domestic violence campaigner and is the 2015 Australian of the Year.

State Coroner Judge Ian Gray will release his report this morning, examining the police response and other factors contributing to the 11-year-old's death.
