Two arrested for violent Vic burglary

Two men who allegedly bashed an elderly woman in her home, breaking her hip, have been arrested by Melbourne police.

The 73-year-old woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition after the two men allegedly broke into her Richmond home on Wednesday, assaulted her and stole items from her house.

The men, aged 36 and 27, were arrested on Thursday and have been charged with burglary, theft and intentionally causing serious injury.
