Family home destroyed by freak wind storm near Bendigo
A home near Bendigo has been destroyed by a freak storm with tornado-like winds.
9News has obtained video that shows the tornado-like system emerge suddenly from the clouds during a rain storm at Axe Creek near Bendigo.
Resident Wayne Eve was filming the pouring rain when the system appeared.

"I could see it come across the paddock and the last thing I saw was these two beautiful gum trees out here just got stripped," Mr Eve said.
He was knocked out by a flying brick and woke to find his four-bedroom double-brick home had been reduced to rubble.

Mr Eve told 9News he considers himself lucky to be alive.
"I'm pretty lucky to be here so we'll just re-build and go again," he said.
The family is insured, but will be forced to search through the debris for their irreplaceable personal belongings, including a lost wedding ring.
