Thousands of dead fish at Vic lake

Thousands of dead fish have washed up on the foreshore of a Victorian lake.

The Environment Protection Authority says several thousand dead carp have been discovered at Lake Burrumbeet near Ballarat.

EPA officers believe the deaths are likely to have been caused by a "natural drying event" which resulted in significantly reduced water levels.
