Thirsty burglar strikes in Melbourne

A thirsty thief has been caught red-handed helping himself to a drink after ransacking a Melbourne home.

The home's owner snapped a photo of the man as he fled the Dandenong North property with a can of Coke and stolen electronics in hand.

His housemate gave chase in a car, but the burglar realised he was being followed and jumped on the bonnet before kicking in the windscreen.
