Third man in court over Melbourne shooting

A third man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Melbourne father shot dead outside a boxing venue.

Coburg man Osamma Allouche, 24, who is already in custody for unrelated matters, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court by video link on Friday over the murder of Ben Togiai, 30.

Mr Togiai, from Cragieburn, was killed and another two men, aged 32 and 34, were injured at the Melbourne Pavilion at Kensington on March 1.

Allouche's co-accused Abdullah El Nasher and Mikhael Myko - who faces an attempted murder charge - faced court in March after being extradited from Sydney over the attack.

A fourth man, Ali El Nasher, is also wanted over the shooting but is still at large.

Mr Togiai's family members were present in court on Friday.

The court has previously been told that ongoing tensions between two rival gangs led to the attack.

The boxing match boasted a capacity crowd, with about 1000 spectators.

Allouche has been charged with the murder of Mr Togiai and the attempted murder and causing of serious injury to Omar Bchinnati.

He is also charged with reckless conduct by discharging a firearm towards partons at the front of the Melbourne Pavilion, placing people in danger of death and being a prohibited person using a firearm.

Allouche will return to court on September 12 for a committal mention.
