Strong winds batter Victoria
AAP
Strong winds are thrashing Victoria with gusts of up to 120km/h recorded in alpine areas.
A severe weather warning has been issued for most of the state with north to north-westerly winds strengthening ahead of a squally south-westerly cool change, the Bureau of Meteorology says.
The change is near Naracoorte-Cape Otway and should extend into central parts of the state and Gippsland during Tuesday afternoon, bringing possible damaging peak gusts of 90-100 km/h.
