No calls from missing Vic grandad

Almost-daily calls have become eight months of painful silence for a Queensland woman whose Victorian father has been missing since September.

Keith Foggin, 47, planned to set out by car from Bacchus Marsh, west of Melbourne, in late September to begin his next trucking job near his daughter's home in Scarborough, north of Brisbane.

But the family-minded grandfather has not contacted family members or touched his bank account since he was last seen at a mechanics workshop on September 24.

Cassie Davies spoke to her father the morning he disappeared.

She joined Victoria Police on Thursday to make a fresh appeal for information.

They hope an information caravan set up in Bacchus Marsh - complete with a mannequin wearing clothing similar to Mr Foggin's - will jog someone's memory.

Mr Foggin was barefoot when he arrived at the workshop to pick up a car for the drive to Queensland.

He was also due to collect an unregistered vehicle permit - but failed to do so.

After a week with no calls from her dad, who usually phoned "all the time", Ms Davies reported him missing.

"Day three was a big trigger," the emotional mother-of-two told reporters on Thursday.

"Day seven was really worrying - that's when I was pretty sure something was up.

"(Now) I sort of wish I didn't wait so long and got onto it sooner."

The car Mr Foggin was due to pick up, which had earlier been sought by police, is no longer of interest to detectives.
