Police raid illegal brothel in Melbourne

A woman has been arrested by Victoria Police as they target unsafe, illegal brothels in Melbourne.

The 41-year-old is being questioned by police, who seized cash, documents and equipment from the illegal business allegedly operating in a residence in Little Collins Street.

Senior Sergeant Marilynn Ross says patrons of illegal brothels should be aware they could be charged, and that unregulated brothels often mean exploitative conditions for workers and unhygienic conditions.
