Plane stuck in sand after landing at remote beach in Victoria

A light plane has become stuck in sand after landing at French Island, in Western Port.
The pilot of the Foxbat aircraft, who requested to remain unidentified, said the plane landed on the beach about 12.30pm after a private joy flight.

The nose wheel of the plane became stuck in the sand, which was “softer than usual”, the pilot told 9NEWS.
Initial reports suggested the plane had made an emergency landing, however a police helicopter was only called to the beach because the plane had still not been freed when the tide began to rise.
A barge is now en route to recover the plane.
No one was injured.
