P-plater caught double speed limit in Melb

A P-plate driver has been caught drink-driving at almost double the speed limit in suburban Melbourne.

The 26-year-old from Tasmania allegedly returned a positive breath test when was caught by police doing 154km/h in an 80km/h zone in the southeastern suburb of Clayton on Friday night.

Police have also alleged the man was carrying a knife.

His car was impounded and he will be charged on summons with traffic and weapons offences.
