No subpoena for Vic premier over CFA

The Victorian premier and emergency services minister haven't been ordered to appear as witnesses at an upcoming trial concerning the controversial CFA pay dispute.

Premier Daniel Andrews and his deputy James Merlino on Thursday revealed they hadn't yet been subpoenaed to appear at the Supreme Court later this month when Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria will challenge the proposed CFA enterprise agreement.

VFBV chief executive Andrew Ford on Wednesday said his organisation was "considering subpoenaing anyone who can shed light on the issue".

Former emergency services minister Jane Garrett - who quit cabinet because she opposed the deal - was on Tuesday subpoenaed to appear at the Supreme Court trial scheduled to begin on September 22.
