Night boat rescue on Port Phillip Bay

Two fisherman have been rescued after their boat sank overnight in Victoria's Port Phillip Bay.

Police say the men launched their boat off Altona on Wednesday night in very calm conditions, but, when the wind and waves increased during the night, the boat began taking on water.

The boat sank shortly after they called for help, and the men had to be pulled from the water.
