New Melbourne rubbish dump to open shop

One man's trash is another man's treasure, and a Melbourne rubbish tip is cashing in on that with a new shop full of recycled bargains.

The new rubbish dump, which will open in Frankston in October, will include a shop where people can buy discarded furniture and household items and give them a new lease on life.

The new $12 million waste transfer station will accept recyclable material including cardboard and scrap metal for free and charge around $65 a cubic-metre for hard rubbish dumping and $5 for a Christmas tree.
