Murdered Vic toddler farewelled

A funeral for a little girl allegedly murdered in her home has been held in country Victoria.

Nikki Francis-Coslovich was found dead in the roof of her mother's Mildura rental home on August 25.

Many mourners were involved in the search for the toddler, who was reported missing by her mother Peta-Ann Francis.

Nikki's father Nick dyed his hair purple in honour of his daughter's love of bright colours and proudly wore it during Tuesday's service, according to the Herald Sun online.

Neither parent spoke at the service.

"My daughter's going to see us from up there (heaven); she'll know how much she was loved," Mr Coslovich later told the Herald Sun.

Ms Francis' partner, John Torney, has been arrested and charged with Nikki's death.
