MP to fight bully allegations
A Victorian MP stripped of his portfolio amid bullying claims says he'll fight the allegations.
Small Business Minister Adem Somyurek was stood down two weeks ago following a formal complaint from his then-chief of staff Dimity Paul.
According to Premier Daniel Andrews, Ms Paul alleged the MP was threatening his own staff and was intimidating to her.
Previously Mr Somyurek refused to comment on the matter, but on Thursday told the Nine Network he was confident he would be found innocent.
"Absolutely, I'll be fighting the allegations," he said.
"They are baseless. They are simply not true."
The government has released a statement saying it would not be appropriate to comment on the matter while an inquiry is underway.
