The schoolboy went missing from his family home in Camberwell about 8.30am.

“I was having breakfast with him this morning and I went upstairs to the bathroom and when I came back down he was gone,” his mother, Cindy Ong, said during a press conference this afternoon.

She said her son had run away after making a mistake doing tuck shop duty at his primary school.

“He left a note at lying on the table about why he (ran away) and how he feels sad about what happened,” a teary Mrs Ong said.

CCTV captured Andrew boarding a train at Willison Station, where he used his Myki to travel into the CBD.

Victoria Police thanked the public for their assistance.
