Melbourne tenant leaves landlord wee gift

A Melbourne tenant kicked out by his landlord has left a wee departing gift - 200 bottles of urine.

Rohan James rented a bedroom of his Ringwood house to a mate and says the tenant had been good for most of the two-year-old rental.

But the man's bedroom was a mess and after he stopped paying rent he was evicted in January.

Five weeks later and with the tenant still yet to collect his things, Mr James entered the room to clean up and unearthed his tenant's golden revenge.

"At first I only saw one or two on top of a large pile of clothes and empty food packaging," Mr James told AAP on Friday.

"I knew what it was almost instantly.

"I just stood there in awe and shock and felt helpless."

He filled a bin with 60-odd bottles on the first night before returning on the weekend to finish the unenviable task.

Several times, Mr James thought he had found everything, only to uncover bottles stashed in clothes, drawers and wardrobes in the room.

"It was like starting again every time that happened," he said.

The room was also piled high with empty food packaging, kitchen items and rubbish.

Mr James says he has not filed a police report but sent his former tenant a strongly-worded message.

"I have read a little about why someone would do it ... (but) hadn't seen it as this level of hoarding," he said.

"I have no idea why he did it."

While the wee bottler plots his next victim, the bewildered landlord Mr James says he will get over the episode with a few stiff drinks this weekend.
