Melbourne mobile kitchens vie for CBD home

Some of Melbourne's best mobile kitchens will hit the brakes and be put on concrete blocks.

The owners of Mr Burger and Soul Kitchen are among the operators vying to be among the 17 to be chosen by the city council to pop-up for good at five permanent sites in the CBD from next year.

"These sites have music, smoke, food smells and usually a lot of people, creating an experience that Melburnians love," said Mr Burger owner Myles Munro.
