Melbourne graffiti arrest goes wrong

Two detectives got more than they bargained for when they tried to arrest a teenager spraying graffiti on a Melbourne building.

Police say they were attempting the arrest the 19-year-old in the early hours of Saturday when a struggle ensued and a second man ran at them, punching the arresting officer in the face and fleeing the scene.

The police officer suffered a serious facial injury, and the two men have since been charged.
