Man seriously burned in Vic house blaze

An exploding gas bottle has set a Melbourne house on fire and left a man with life-threatening burns.

Firefighters found the Hoppers Crossing house fully alight on Monday night after a gas bottle exploded in a "confined space", the CFA said.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious burns to his body, and a woman, also in her 20s, was treated at the scene for minor burns.

A 12-month-old baby was checked by paramedics but was uninjured.
