Motorcyclist killed on Melbourne freeway

A fatal peak-hour crash and a driver's death in hospital has increased the Victorian road toll by two.

An unidentified male motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash with a truck on Melbourne's Monash Freeway at 8.45am on Wednesday.

A five-kilometre stretch of the freeway in Glen Iris was closed inbound for four hours.

Another man, whose car hit a tree in Euroa on November 2, died in hospital last week and was added to the road toll on Wednesday.

The Victorian road toll is at 227, five more than this time last year.
