Kids OK to play after Melbourne gas leak

Children have returned to the playground after one of two gas leaks in Melbourne sent their kindergarten temporarily into lockdown.

The gas leak was fixed about an hour after an excavator burst a pipe in Melbourne's northern suburb of Hadfield about 11am on Thursday.

A gas leak at a second site in Hawthorn has also been contained after a worker in a laneway accidentally drilled through a pipe about 10am.
