How you can help those impacted by Victoria's floods

Thousands of lives have been changed forever or destroyed by the ongoing flood emergency across Victoria.

Although the crisis is far from over and there are difficult weeks and months ahead, there many ways to help.

At a political level, there are one-off payments available worth $560 per adult and $280 per child for Victorians impacted by flooding.

How can you help?

• The Red Cross has set up a disaster response and recovery fund, which will power on-the-ground emergency response teams in flood-affected areas.
• Wildlife Victoria is appealing for support. The organisation provides free veterinarian services and carers to help rehabilitate and release flood-affected animals.
• Sikh Volunteers Australia are taking donations. They are currently out in force providing free hot meals to flood-affected communities.
• Volunteer organisation BlazeAid is working with rural communities to help rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged by the flood. Donations are accepted here
• The Victorian Farmers Federation has set up a disaster relief fund to support farmers affected by the floods.
• Bendigo bank's Victorian Flood Appeal has created a fund for flood-affected communities in their recovery, both in the short and long term.
• Disaster Relief Australia is accepting donations. They are currently managing local community volunteers to support their neighbours in the flood recovery.
