Give generously at Christmas: Vic premier

Victorians should give generously to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, new premier Daniel Andrews says.

Victoria is behind NSW and Queensland in the number of gifts donated, and Mr Andrews said the state could lift its game and get donating.

"Kmart and the Salvation Army know that the little things can make a difference. They've done so much to help Victorian families," Mr Andrews said on Saturday.

The Wishing Tree Appeal has collected more than six million gifts, with 500,000 gifts hoped to be donated by Christmas Eve.
