Frenchman attacks Tas police officer

A Frenchman has allegedly punched a police officer in the face and spat on him at a Tasmanian caravan park.

The officer suffered a suspected broken nose after allegedly being attacked by the 21-year-old while responding to an incident at Cygnet in the state's south on Tuesday.

The French national was charged with assaulting police and has appeared in Hobart Magistrates' Court.
