Four arrested over tree protest in Melb

Four people who chained themselves to an historic tree in Melbourne to prevent it being cut down have been arrested.

The group, including a 70-year-old doctor, was among nine people who chained themselves to a tree on Flemington Rd, Kensington, before being moved on by police on Tuesday morning.

The near-century-old tree is making way for the Citylink widening with police still monitoring the site to ensure the removal works can be completed safely.
