The 46,268 VCE students sitting their English exam on Wednesday are being asked to remember their ABCs as they enter some testing times.

ABC: Looking After Yourself asks stressed VCE students to do three important things: Ask for help. Breathe. Connect with family and friends.

The strategies to cope with exam stress were created by the Youth Mental Health Foundation and the Victorian Government.

Education Minister Martin Dixon wished all VCE students well in their exams and emphasised while the exams were important, there were many ways to earn success.

"Students can be assured that their success in life will not be limited by their exam outcomes and I urge students to seek support if they need it during the exam period," he said.

Students will sit their exams in 505 examination centres across Victoria.

The largest examination centre will be Bendigo Senior Secondary College with 1,006 students. The smallest will have four students sitting exams at Cornish College in Lavers Hill and Werrimull School.
