Earthquake in eastern Vic

There has been a minor 3.1 magnitude earthquake in Victoria's far east.

Geoscience Australia (GA) said the earthquake occurred around Bruthen, a small town between Bairnsdale and Ensay in East Gippsland, at 8.50pm.

Emergency services had not received any reports of damage or injury, according to the SES.

On initial estimates, the earthquake could have been felt by people up to 25km away, GA says.
