Melbourne drivers are now paying $1.8 million per day to use CityLink, according to new revenue figures for Transurban.

Transurban’s profit soared to $22 million this year, with a third of the revenue coming from CityLink.

This comes a year after the company recorded a $373 million loss.

In a presentation to investors, Transurban revealed traffic on CityLink was up one percent last year, with public holiday and weekend traffic up 3.2 percent.

Transurban is looking to extend its toll deal with the government, which currently expires in 2035, for an extra 10 years.

Premier Daniel Andrew’s told the newspaper negotiations were “well advanced” for a “likely extension”.
