Driver dodges falling tree by seconds
A lucky motorist has narrowly avoided disaster after wild winds toppled a tree in Melbourne’s south-east.
Video shared to Facebook shows a black car being driven down Raleigh Street, Windsor, last night.
Just seconds later, a large tree is blown over, bringing down multiple power lines as it lands heavily on the street.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) and SES crews were both called to the scene to assist with clean-up, Jewish Care Victoria posted on social media.
The city was whipped by strong winds overnight, with gusts of up to 100km/h triggering a severe weather warning for the city’s eastern suburbs.
In St Kilda, a cruise ship was blown into the edge of station pier as a result of the battering conditions.
