Victoria records no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases, one in hotel quarantine

Victoria has once again recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 today, the Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed.

There was one case detected within hotel quarantine.

It brings Victoria's streak of no community infections to 18 days, with 11,901 tests conducted yesterday.

The new figures come after Victoria relaxed coronavirus restrictions to December levels in time for the long weekend, with up to 30 people now allowed to gather inside homes.

Border restrictions have also relaxed with Greater Sydney - with the exemption of Cumberland - now classified as an Orange zone.

Travellers will still need a border pass to enter the state and must receive a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their arrival in Victoria.

People from Brisbane will also be allowed into the state under the same conditions.
