A former Victorian coalition government adviser accused of working as a lawyer while not qualified has had all charges against him dropped.

Tristan James Weston, 44, was charged by the Legal Services Board with two counts each of engaging in legal practice and representing an entitlement to engage in legal practice while not being an Australian legal practitioner.

On Tuesday the board withdrew all charges against Mr Weston, who was an adviser to former deputy premier Peter Ryan.
