Brake fire stops V/Line train in Vic

A brake fire has stopped a Melbourne-bound V/Line train and forced an evacuation, with passengers moved to buses.

In the latest incident for the crippled rail operator, a Melbourne-bound train from Bairnsdale was stopped in Moe with a brake issue causing a small fire on Friday morning.

There were no injuries or significant damage and passengers were transferred to a coach to resume their journey, a V/Line spokesman told AAP.

V/Line says there won't be any more delays than were already expected, with coaches already replacing many trains on the line due to an ongoing wheel issue that was identified in December.
