Body found in Sunshine creek yet to be identified

A man’s body has been found in a creek in Melbourne’s west.

The body was discovered by a passerby around 9am in Kororoit Creek at Sunshine.

Police were alerted and a crime scene has been established.

Residents said they were shocked by the grim find and usually did not venture into the area after dark.

“I am just scared,” Mujeeb Khan, who lives by the creek, told the Herald Sun.

“It’s really scary for the locals. I just want to know what happened.”

The Homicide Squad are investigating.
