Homicide detectives investigating after man found dead at home on New Year's Day

Victoria homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man in Geelong's north after a body was discovered inside a home on New Year's Day.

The Norlane man was taken to hospital on December 29 for what were believed to be assault related injuries before he later discharged himself.

Police the found the 41-year-old dead about 5.30pm yesterday when they visited a home on Robin Avenue in Norlane.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
