Attack leaves Vic cop with spinal injuries

A police officer has neck and spinal injuries after allegedly being attacked by a teenage boy in Melbourne.

The boy is accused of assaulting the male officer after police were called to a Narre Warren home following an argument between paramedics and two people they were trying to treat on Sunday morning.

Police say both people from that address and the constable were taken to hospital, where the officer remains.

The boy has been charged with police assault and has been bailed to appear in court at a later date.
