Accused Vic shooter to remain behind bars

A customer getting a tattoo had no idea who Mohammed Tiba was when the armed man entered a parlour and ordered him to leave with him.

The man's refusal so enraged Tiba, he shot him in the thigh from close range, left with another man and told staff not to call police, a Melbourne court has heard.

"If any of you lag, you're all f***ed!" Tiba allegedly said.

Tiba, 36, will remain behind bars after he was refused bail in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He has been charged with 10 offences over two separate shootings and a third incident at a shopping centre in Campbellfield.

He allegedly shot a man at Addikted to Ink in Coburg on January 20.

Police say Tiba went up to the man and told him: "Come with me, I have a gun and it's not fake", according to court documents.

The man remained seated in the tattoo chair as he had no idea who Tiba was.

Tiba then fired a shot into the floor and allegedly became enraged that the man would still not leave the tattoo store with him.

"The accused pointed the small silver handgun at the man's leg and discharged the handgun within close range to his upper right thigh," a police summary says.

Eleven days after the Coburg shooting, Tiba allegeldy carried out a drive-by shooting of another tattoo shop in Glenroy.

Police say the 36-year-old fired eight shots into the storefront while seated in his car about 11am on January 31.

"Multiple shots penetrated the glass window and narrowly missed the victim as he sat in the reception chair," court documents say.

Tiba has also been charged with threatening two shoppers at Kmart Campbellfield on January 17, the same day one of his relatives, Omar Tiba, was shot multiple times by two gunmen in the store's carpark.

It's alleged Tiba told two shoppers who were putting groceries into their car "what the f*** are you looking at" and threatened them.

Police say the Tiba family is involved in organised crime and "is known for its high level drug trafficking and firearms violence", according to court documents.

Tiba, who has been in custody since February, will return to court at a later date.
