Former AFL player Mark Jamar pleads guilty to dog attack at caravan park
Former AFL player Mark Jamar has pleaded guilty over a dog attack at a caravan park in Melbourne's south-east.
Jamar, who previously played for the Melbourne Football Club and Essendon Football Club appeared at the Ringwood Magistrates Court today.
A couple in their 50s were walking their border cross cattle dog named Elvin when they were attacked at the Crystal Brook Tourist Park in November last year.

The court heard Jamar's American Staffordshire bull terrier bit the left side of Elvin's stomach numerous times.
Elvin suffered serious injuries and was taken to an emergency vet. His owner was also injured.
Jamar, 39, was checking in at the caravan park with his two children at the time of the attack.

The court heard Jamar has owned the staffy for more than nine years and nothing like this has happened before.
The magistrate took that into consideration when sentencing and she didn't record a conviction. Instead Jamar was fined $500.
He was also ordered to pay council costs.
