Accused Melbourne rapist on more charges

A Melbourne man already accused of raping other men and doing sex work without a licence allegedly attempted an attack after he was charged while on bail.

Peter Valsamakis, 41, is charged with raping or attempting to rape men at Port Melbourne between March 2016 and January 2017.

He appeared in court on those matters in January and was granted bail.

During a hearing in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on his behalf on Friday, the court was told Valsamakis was facing more charges.

Court documents show Valsamakis is accused of attempted rape on April 26 in South Yarra.

He is also facing four breach of bail charges, including breaching curfew.

Valsamakis will reappear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on July 14 for a committal mention on all matters.
