12 arrested in Melb family brawl

A family brawl in a Melbourne street sent six people to hospital with blunt force trauma injuries.

Twelve people were arrested over what appeared to be a family dispute in Roxburgh Park near 1am on Thursday.

Six were taken to hospital with injuries understood to have been received after they were hit with a pole.

Two cars pulled up outside a house, several people got out and started a fight with those who came out of a house.

A police spokeswoman said all the people were known to each other.

Two men were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, one with serious head injuries.

A teenage girl was taken to the Austin Hospital with abdomen injuries, while a man in his 30s went to the Alfred Hospital with head and chest injuries.

Two men in their 40s were taken to the Northern Hospital.
