Qantas makes changes to Europe-bound flights as conflict rages on in Middle East

Qantas will be adjusting its international schedule from mid-April to operate more flights between Australia and Europe for the northern hemisphere summer.

The changes are in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has seen thousands of flights cancelled throughout various major transport hubs in the region, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, impacting airlines such as Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.

Qantas will redeploy some aircraft from US routes, as well as domestic aircraft, till late July to accommodate the increase in passengers heading to that side of the globe.

The Perth-to-Paris direct flight has been axed, and instead the airline will increase the Sydney-to-Paris via Singapore route, which will run as five return flights a week.

However, the Perth-to-Singapore services will go from seven flights to 10 per week.

They'll be timed to connect with Qantas' Singapore-Paris flights.

Perth-to-Rome direct remains in place and will become a daily flight instead of four times a week.

The Perth-to-London direct flights remain unaffected, other than the current required refuelling stop in Singapore en-route to Heathrow.

Customers impacted by the schedule changes are set to be contacted by the carrier with alternate flight options.
