Two more charged after alleged crime spree on Gold Coast

Two more people have been charged over an alleged crime spree involving carjackings and cars being fired upon in south-east Queensland last week.

A 17-year-old Ormeau woman and a 16-year-old Edens Landing boy were arrested in Collingwood Park, south of Brisbane, last night and both are due to face Southport Magistrates Court on September 12.

Police allege the teenagers were involved last week when two shots were fired at a car on the Pacific Motorway at Coomera.

Both have been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of discharging a firearm.

A 24-year-old was arrested in dramatic fashion at a roadblock on Nerang-Murwillumbah Road in the Numinbah Valley region this weekend.

He appeared in court yesterday on a string of charges including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and robbery.

Police say the man broke into several homes in the Gold Coast area over the weekend and stole cars from those properties.

He's also accused of opening fire on cars in the south-east region last week.

A 56-year-old man was taken hostage on Sunday afternoon when he returned to his Numinbah Valley home and disturbed the gunman.
