Two Adelaide men are accused of stabbing a rottweiler in the head and shooting it with a bow and arrow.

The RSPCA has previously said the dog, which had to be euthanised, was believed to have been involved in an incident with a child before the attack.

The charges against Peter Moran and Paul Rogers of ill treating an animal last April were listed in Elizabeth magistrates court today.

Moran, 28, from Davoren Park, appeared in the court and his case was adjourned to August 28 to enable him to obtain legal advice.

Rogers - whose age is not given on court papers - from One Tree Hill, was legally represented and his case was adjourned to the same date.
