Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the ute englufed in flames.

The driver of the truck made a luckily escape before suffering any injuries and no other drivers were treated.

The fire also set the walls of the tunnel alight, forcing all southbound lanes to close for over two hours and causing traffic to back up for kilometres.

All lanes have now reopened and traffic conditions have returned to normal.

Emergency services extinguished the fire, but all southbound lanes had to be closed while potentially structural damage was assessed. 9News
