Police release identity of body found inside Gold Coast home
Homicide detectives are now investigating the "suspicious" death of a man whose badly decomposed body was found inside a Gold Coast home earlier this year, and have identified him as 69-year-old Tomislav Nemes.
Police conducted a welfare check at the Benowa home in April after a relative raised concerns when a family member wouldn't let anyone see Nemes because he was "too unwell".
Police found the body in a bed inside the home where Nemes' wife and stepson were living.

"The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, it did have a mummified look to it but there was no attempts to preserve the body," Mark Procter, Acting detective inspector of the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch said.
At the time, police believed Nemes may have been dead for more than 12 months before his body was found.
The investigation into his death is ongoing and no charges have yet been laid.
Police have today released images of Nemes and his home on Edinburgh Road in an appeal for information.

Anyone who has visited the home in recent years is asked to come forward to police.
Friends, family and associates of Nemes, from Queensland, or the Australian Captial Territory where he lived prior to 2018, are also asked to come forward.
