DJ bites off more than he can chew witnessing dramatic Maccas carpark arrest

A DJ out for a late-night feed bit off more than he could chew when he witnessed a dramatic car theft arrest in Western Sydney.

DJ Timmy Lala was in the parking lot of the McDonald's on the corner of Peachtree and Castlereagh Roads, Penrith North, in the early hours of Sunday morning, when a car came screeching in and police stormed the area.

"We go through drive-through, get our food, park in the car park and put out the ute tray, to have some food," the DJ told Today.

"Literally two minutes later, this undercover BMW comes flying around into the car park, a police wagon blocks the exit and we just saw it all unfold, I was literally midway chewing my cheeseburger."

DJ Timmy said he couldn't believe what was unfolding in front of him and since his car was stuck in the car park because police had blocked the exits, he pulled out his phone and started recording video.

"I was scared in the moment, like I was either going to die from a gunshot or choke on my cheeseburger," he said.

"I mean, I couldn't help them, so I thought I'd just help from the outside and keep recording."

A special strike force had been investigating after the Range Rover was allegedly stolen from a property in Colyton last month and fitted with numerous fake numberplates, before landing back on police radar when it was spotted on the streets of Western Sydney last week.

This led to the men inside the vehicle being arrested in front of DJ Timmy and his mate over the weekend.

The driver has since been charged with several offences and was refused bail to appear in court at a later date.
