What's happening in entertainment news today

The MTV Movie and TV Awards went ahead yesterday, although producers are probably wishing that it didn't.

It was an absolute shemozzle, the writers' strike forced them to cancel the red carpet and host Drew Barrymore pulled out at the last hour to support writers.

Pre-recorded bits were included, but were confusing and the show underwent a whole lot of changes before air time with lengthy throwback montages and was a recipe for disaster!

The majority of winners Zoomed in, including Tom Cruise literally, who accepted his best performance in a movie award in the most Tom Cruise way possible - while flying a fighter jet.

And it isn't just award ceremonies and talk shows that are affected by the writers' strike.

Major TV series have announced they have been forced to hit the pause button, including Stranger Things, Severance and the new Game of Thrones spin-off amongst those suffering costly postponements.

Nicole Kidman has also been caught up in this.

The American Film Institute has delayed her Life Achievement Award tribute, which is a very big deal.

It was scheduled for June 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and no new date has been announced.

The strike is no worry for Taylor Swift though, she writes her own stuff and has shown how dedicated she is to her fans.

The singer performed throughout a major thunderstorm at her gig in Nashville, the show was delayed several times, however, Taylor chose to brave the weather and perform well into the early hours of the morning.

This comes as her love life makes headlines again, with rumoured new man Matt Healy pictured at both concerts and apparently in a car with her - says it all.

Finally, Ed Sheeran has addressed rumours he turned down the King's Coronation concert, saying "no body even asked me" while a guest on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up.
