'It's going to be an absolutely epic week': Tim Davies wakes up in Japan

Crowded House may have been thinking of Tim Davies when they wrote their hit song, Weather With You, because Today viewers woke up to the presenter in a rainy Tokyo this morning.

Timmy flew in over the weekend, to showcase Today and Expedia's $15,000 Japan Holiday Giveaway.

"We've got so much to show you, it's going to be an absolutely epic week," he said.

But this morning when Karl and Sarah crossed to Timmy in the usually busy and colourful Shibuya district - he was lucky he packed his umbrella.

"It's a little bit wet here at the moment, we're waking up to a bit of a shower and seeing some wet weather moving across parts of Japan at the moment," he said.

And when he does get back to Australia, that rain looks like it might be following the Today weather presenter.

Western Australia has already seen rain across parts of the state and that is going to build in coming days with a trough system turning into a low-pressure system.

"At this stage, we could see some falls upwards of 150mm and that system, as it intensifies throughout this week and moves into central parts of Australia, could see some thunderstorm action evolve," Timmy said.

And he warned that weather system is going to likely cause between seven to 10 days of rain across most parts of Australia.

"So while the eastern states are in for a pretty lovely day today, by the end of the week we could see some showers moving into parts of NSW, Victoria and also for Queensland," he said.
